What is Lightpath?
Lightpath is a web-based platform for designing and operating dynamic lighting and media experiences. Everything about it is built for permanence: installs that run for years and pass from the team that builds them to the people who run them every day.
Content management, real-time generative visuals, fleet-wide monitoring, and intuitive scheduling, all in one interface. Accessible from a browser, phone, or any internet-connected device.
Hosted on the on-site server, reachable securely from any browser. Nothing to host yourself.

Lightpath grew out of the custom installations Digital Ambiance builds: unique, one-off systems that still need to be supported and controlled years later. Every feature exists because a real install needed it, and every install DA ships runs on it. It unifies the complex work behind a custom install into a single system the customer can understand, without giving up any of the custom capability.

Content authoring can be a bottleneck for many teams: slow export loops, challenging remote updates, bespoke pipelines, content only one person can touch. Lightpath makes it live and approachable. Any content streams straight to the browser with parameters to tweak on the fly, so you see exactly how it will look as you build.
- Real-time pre-vis TouchDesigner streamed to your browser, so you author looks live and see the result instantly, no export.
- Brand palettes save your exact brand colors and restyle any look in seconds.
- Bring your own media upload files, or pull in NDI and Spout from anything else in the stack.
- A simple content model build from looks, scenes, sequences, and playlists, the units that make an install easy to run.
- AI Studio (beta) prompt new content for the install, in real time or as high-quality offline video.

The Lagunitas Experience is a permanent outdoor installation in Northern California: projection, architectural lighting, and 3D spatial audio, all real-time interactive, driven by live LiDAR and sensor data, all orchestrated by Lightpath. It demonstrates how Lightpath operates at scale, tying other best-in-class software together into one system that a team can run for years.

The stack, and how it fits together
- Lightpath: pixel mapping, orchestration, and the control UI. The brain of the install.
- Unreal Engine: real-time rendering.
- Modulo Pi: projection mapping.
- Spatial: 3D multi-channel audio.
- TouchDesigner (under Lightpath): custom C++ ingests live Ouster LiDAR, a system plugin feeds it in, and custom sources turn the data into generative content in real time. Lightpath coordinates the real-time tracking across Unreal, Modulo Pi, and TouchDesigner.
